Kimono-An art of expression!
Bio: Rino Okazaki is a foreign exchange student who is currently studying at the University of Findlay. She is from Japan and enjoys reading and long walks at the park, and also enjoys making new friends from different cultures.
"I think it is a beautiful thing to be able to talk to people from a country other than yours." - Rino Okazaki.

Rino is wearing a Japanese attire called the Kimono, it  means "a thing to wear"  in English, and it is made out of a tan material. It is often worn by women on formal occasions.

                                                              Traditionally they are hand sewn, and the ideal fabric used is silk.

The season determines what type of Kimono is worn. Rino's Kimono has a cherry blossom pattern which should be worn in the spring.

 Bio: Yuki Odaira is a foreign exchange student from Japan who loves yoghurt and she is currently studying at the University of Findlay. Yuki is wearing a short Yukata (a light cotton Kimono)  and a datejime (belt)​.

The yukata is a garment made out of cotton or synthetic fabric and it is worn by Japanese men and women only in the summer. it is worn for casual events such as the hanabi (fireworks).

Yuki - "whenever I wear my Kimono I feel at home"
Both styles of Kimonos are commonly worn with a foot wear called Zori (Japanese sandals) made out of rice straw or plant fibre, and the Geta (flip flops) ​made out of fabric thong.

Rino - "the Kimono is my voice, it speaks for me."
The Kimono outfits are traditionally the most expensive attires in Japan, they cost from $20,000 and above depending on the length and styles.
